Holidays

To say that life has been hectic around here is an understatement. January is Summer here and we aussies usually have some time off for vacations and even if work continues through out the week the weekends are a time of social interacting and outings from early morn until late into the warmish evenings. Weather wise it has been a little extreme.

Skye's so blue and beautiful. Warm days of temperatures around 30deg Celsius give or take a few degrees, to the more windy and overcast warmish days with sea breezes usually giving a good relief to the heat from the sun. Up until now there has been no rain to speak of so things are drying out as they do at this time of year.

I have had interstate visitors and we have had such a great time visiting much of what is offer in our own area. Some of my photos have shown the beauty of this area and a few days ago the historic Port Willunga was voted by a travel site as being one of the top 20 destinations in the world. To have a place like this on my doorstep is very exciting indeed although we did appreciate our quiet little secret remaining just THAT.

For two days our friends spent their time on Kangaroo Island and they came back with glowing reports of the spectacular views and wildlife they saw on the island.

I have included some photos taken over the last week and hope that wherever you are in the world that you too can take some warmth and goodwill from my photos.

  7. Ten out of Ten for Sixteen with Seven showing perfection.
That is fantastic and so good to look at too.
I think technically 5 & 7 are excellent with 7 capturing the point of interest using opposing diagonals in a way that is totally original. No 6 shows excellent depth of field and composition too.
Now I am getting confused. I will take them all. lol

  17. Thank you Joel. My friend said the same thing she has been to the Greek Isles and remarked how the colours of the water made her think that she could be there again.

  24. How lovely, Milli. You certainly live in a beautiful. I remember my brother telling me how gorgeous Adelaide is. He lived there for almost a year. I LOVE your photo of the Agapanthus - we had quite a lot of them when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area - they grew like weeds. Not too many around up here. I don't know how they do in sub-zero winters. Thanks for all the photos and descriptions. Hope you have a good summer and get the amount of rain you're suppose to have. We're in drought conditions and we hoping for at least an above average snow and rain fall to help with the severe lack of water over the past two years. They say that even if we get an especially wet winter it's not going to help. My thought is: It has to help SOME! Darned weather folks anyway. LOL

  25. I remember you telling me about your brother Marcia. I do not know how the Aggies would go in the snow. They are beautiful though and can be relied upon in summer for colour.I hope that you get the rain you need and I am like you any rain is better than none and nature does what nature does. Weather forecasters can not tell weather to behave. YET!!!
