Picture Perfect ~ Communication

AboriginalDreamtimestory-1.jpg picture by millimum

The painting above was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the Junior Art and Craft and School Section at the Royal Adelaide Show 2008.

I do not know the child artists, however I think it refers to The Indigenous Australian People's Wonderful Ability to tell stories of their ancestors and the creation of earth's beginning. The practice of Songlines is part of the Dreamtime. Songlines representing Communication through out the tribes, serving as an intricate series of song cycles that identify landmarks and navigation.

  31. Really interesting Milli, and thanks for the link, amazing that each tribe along a particular Spirit Beings path is a member of that 'clan' and sings the part of the whole song that deals with their tribal territory. Have a book ABORIGINE DREAMING by James Cowan, has been in my 'to read pile' for a while, think I will move it up to the top of the pile.
