ReplyDeleteHi Lynda I am home now and exhausted. lol..All went well.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your visit and your comment very much.
ReplyDeleteIn these days of such sophistocated digital photographic equiptment and such things as Photoshop...not to mention so many people with such good eyes for a good capture....the question just occured to me: How does anyone get a job as a magazine photographer anymore? Half of the shots in your camera club right here could have made National Geographic 20 years ago, or any number of then common photography magazines. I wonder if they even still exist? Well, I'm not complaiining. It's nice to be able to just turn on the computer and see such weekly works of wonder. Keep up the great work, guys. It's just a shame someone doesn't pay you for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat you have said remains true for this day and age.
ReplyDeleteDigital photography has for most of us become affordable where as years ago the cost for the average person learning photography became prohibitive because mistakes made were always costly in the processing process.
This era of processing our own photos and having the means to edit them has made many of us more accomplished in our hobby of photography.
Of course places like this, Multiply, and other sharing sites, have certainly helped us amateur's to share and learn further from others.
Personally this creative medium suits me perfectly. I love to get out and about and take the captures of the moment and then if necessary play around and edit them for sharing.
Having a good eye for your subjects seems to be an advantage however I think any time that we are doing what we love nothing stands in our way and learning new things becomes part of our recreation and playtime.
There is room for high end photographers and total newbies to photography if you look around at the different sites available.
I could only wish that my photos become good enough for NG...oh wow how good would that be.
" Half of the shots in your camera club right here could have made National Geographic 20 years ago, or any number of then common photography magazines. I wonder if they even still exist?"
ReplyDeleteYes they do exist and photography for magazines is a highly professional job requiring a huge amount of experience and talent.
Well put, but to respond to that last hypothetical: they kinda make you get too close to polar bears n volcanos. It'd make a fine epitaph for your headstone, though.

ReplyDeleteOh, I just noticed that you're an Aussie. So, which one of us is standing upside down at the moment? And how come you don't fall off the bottom of the earth?
Have you heard about the power and precision of photo graphic lenses these days?
ReplyDeleteThe Right lens and even a polar bear can look up close and personal from a distance. Love that Zoom Feature. LOL.
I am an Aussie and about now I can not see anything but the stars and the moon coming from the sky above.
We are in complete opposite to each other. We don't fall off because thank goodness we also share gravity LOL.
