    Have you been inside the Shot Tower museum, where you enter via the RMWilliams shop? Its worth a look, and you can see right up inside the tower. It's where they made shotgun pellets, all those years ago.

  15. Here is some information from the net regarding this building in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

    Opened in 1991, this amazing 55-storey steel and glass building incorporates over 160 shops, a railway station and the historic brick Shot Tower.

    The Shot Tower originally built in 1889-90 is housed in an ingenious cone-shaped glass dome, a central point for the entire shopping complex. Also suspended from the dome is a hot-air balloon and a fob-watch that entertains shoppers on the hour with traditional Australian folk-songs.

    Melbourne Central (underground) station is below the complex.

  16. Hi Lyn yes I went inside and it was quite fascinating looking up the old shaft. It is like an old museum in the middle of modernisation.
    This is a must do for any visitors to good old Melbourne town.
