Hi To My Dear Multiply Friends

My apologies for being missing in action of late.

So much happening in this big wide world of ours and not all of it is

Glad tidings To All.

I have one friend from Japan on my friends list Kosei and although I have not heard or read anything from his page lately my thoughts and prayers are sincerely sent to him, his family and his fellow citizens of Japan.

This weekend is a special weekend for the family here as all and sundry, babies, children and adults alike will assemble for an Autumn Afternoon Wedding. To be held in a near by vineyard, with a reception following at the local golf course, the wedding will celebrate our third son Luke's marriage to his beautiful bride to be Keryn.

I will have my trusty little camera on hand and hope to capture some special photos, so stay tuned.

Last year on St Patrick's day we went to a local pub for a St Pat's dinner and also to celebrate Keryn's Birthday. Yes she is blessed with a St Patrick's Day Birthday.

We have many from Irish decent here in Australia and my mother's father's family were from Irish decent. So although not a public holiday here the day is as green a day, as many others are green on this day across the world.

About St Patrick

Legend has it that St Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland.  It is also claimed that he had a way with words, and used the three leaves of the Shamrock to explain the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Question: does March 17th commemorate St Patrick's birth or his death, clue the Irish love their wakes.  Answer, St Patrick died on March 17th 461 AD.

One thing the Irish have left many of us Australians with is the ability to have a good laugh and appreciate a good joke or two.

Saint Patrick Day Jokes

An Irishman in Paris

It's revolutionary France 1789; Paris is in turmoil and three spies from across the channel are about to be guillotined.

'Do you want to be beheaded on your back or your front?' the executioner asked Baldwin.

'On my back,' said Baldwin. 'I'm not afraid of death.'

So Baldwin was laid on his back under the blade. The executioner pulled the lever. Schtuck……and the blade jammed. Baldwin was reprieved because no man can be sentenced to death twice.

Cameron was next. He too chose to face the knife. Again the blade jammed, and Cameron was reprieved.

Patrick Murphy was third. 'Back or front?'

'If it's good enough for Baldwin and Cameron, it's good enough for me,' and so Murphy was laid on his back under the blade.

'Begorrah,' Patrick said. 'Wait justa minute. To be sure, I think I can see why it jams.'

Celtic Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine down upon your face.
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
Until we meet again

May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
