A Visit to See Adelaide's Panda's

Funi Climbing down the tree.

Last night was mild and beautiful

just perfect for an evening visit to see the popular pandas

Wang Wang the male and Funi the female

Pandas at the Adelaide Zoo.

Funi

So off we all went.

Accompanied by myself were two of my sons plus a daughter in-law with new baby boy in tow. Plus seven more of my Grand children and all this was courtesy of my Work Union.

Passes to the zoo, plus sausage sizzle, face painting for the children and also fun rides and music in the park-lands and all this was on the house.

A tremendous few hours of entertainment with the highlight being the Pandas.

The one draw back was that I left home without my camera, which is a very, very unusual thing for me to do.

I decided to pack a back pack to carry the bits and pieces we needed and leaving my camera last to place into it, I totally forgot to pack it and left it home on my desk.

My son brought his camera thankfully and I did use it but found the unfamiliarity of this camera for me was a let down when it came to taking good clear photos when I used it.

Never the less the evening was full of memorable good fun for all who attended.

Our group was made up of our new little baby grandson a boy aged five weeks, the two oldest boys both ten years old, our two grand daughters aged seven and five and three and more little grand sons aged four, three and two. So with all the kids full of anticipation and fun, you can bet it was excitement from woe to go and then lots to talk about the evening on the way back home again.

As I mentioned the Pandas were the highlight of the evening and a little bit about them follows.

Funi

In 2008, Zoos SA signed a cooperative agreement with China to help secure the long term survival of Giant Pandas.

Wang Wang and Funi now call Adelaide Zoo home.

  6. It was good to have most of the children on an outing together, something that does not happen as often as I would wish.
The photos I have taken here have not worked out too badly but you know how it is familiarity breeds contentment. lol..
