Smiles.. Yes, bodies of water are so very restorative to my well being, I always seek places like that out.. The beach used to be that place for me when I lived in California, but I find big lakes, rivers, streams where I am now.. Granted nothing can replace the ocean for me but we adapt to our surroundings I guess you would say for me at least.... In this vast land of sky and land, The sky and the clouds are my sea.. Lovely picture Milli.. Love the addition of your red shoes laying in the sand as if you are off playing on the sandy beach like a little girl under the sun... I love it. Very touching... Hugsssss Milli. Thanks for sharing. :-)
A variation for me. Solitude is sitting and looking out over the ocean, watching the waves, watching the sailboats gliding past... Did I tell you we're going to the Gulf Coast for Christmas? Oh, yes!
the soothing sounds of a calm sea and the coolness of sand between the toes are so therpeutic when mixed with no distractions. Solitude can be a beautiful thing.
Thank You Dawn and I might say that like you any expanse be it water sky or land can give me the feeling of solitude and yet oneness too. I am very lucky that I am so near the seaside and it is there that I can very quickly become one with nature. Hugs to You Too Dear Dawn.
Absolutely V, those things you mention are all a part of The Beach just as the times when there is no one but me. I am thrilled that you are going there for Christmas. I am sure that you will have so much to post when you come back especially photos. Do Enjoy!!
LOL solitude is what you make of it Bill. Ah how refreshing the sea can be, even to walk the shore line or standing there digging your toes into the sand. All is so wonderful.
The beaches of my past have usually been those to which an ocean is attached. However, I just spent a week exploring the shores of Lake Erie near Cleveland, OH. A bit chilly for sunbathing, but nevertheless still a beautiful body of sand. It is also gratifying to see how the human destruction of grand old Erie has been thwarted and reversed and now once again it is dotted with sail boats and fishermen whose catch often is available in the many fine restaurants in Cleveland.
HAH!!! wats a beach if you are not barefoot. barefoot at the beach. there is a peaceful solitude there even in a throng of people! well done! beautiful photo!
I'm with you Milli... great photo. The red shoes make me want to say 'wait up', but yet they tell me the person who left them wants to be alone, a feeling I truly empathize with.
Oh I think lakes are wonderful too and I am so pleased to hear your story here as it sounds to be a delightful place for a bit of time out or solitude. Yummy I love a fish dinner.
Beautiful! Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Cin

ReplyDeleteI too can find it other ways Lynda but something to be said when it is only me at the seaside with my toes in the sand and a smile on my face.

Sometimes just sitting on the beach and sinking your toes into the wet sand is the best form of solitude...
