  2. That is amazing. That looks like it was built by the convicts as well. They used to keep them in the wells whilst at night whilst they were building and so shaped the walls in this manner so that they couldn't climb out at night. Fascinating stuff Milli. Love it.

  6. Great shot. The house I grew up in had an old large covered cistern in the back. The top had a hole in it and we would drop rocks, sticks, etc in it. Thanks for looking at mine!

  15. an old cistern.. I had one at a house i rented a few years ago.. had been covered tho.. sometimes you can find great treasures in the bottoms of these..

  20. We have a water well at our summer place... looks a lot like this! The building besides it looks very recent tho ..... cause we built it 3 years ago lol. Your building on the other hand looks old and delightfullllll !

  27. How strange! They have a cement cap over it. Well better than here, they just leave them then years later kids fall down them and they wonder why. LOL You said I should maybe put a warning on mine? I know when it comes to what they are doing with the food here I do tend to go off. Sorry. LOL

  32. Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to visit and encourage with such interesting comments. As long as the water that goes into any tank or well is clean and covered and the well kept WELL the water is extremely wonderful to drink.
    This one was on a property and disused. Not sure how the water was as I did not try it. Thanks friends.
