That is amazing. That looks like it was built by the convicts as well. They used to keep them in the wells whilst at night whilst they were building and so shaped the walls in this manner so that they couldn't climb out at night. Fascinating stuff Milli. Love it.
Great shot. The house I grew up in had an old large covered cistern in the back. The top had a hole in it and we would drop rocks, sticks, etc in it. Thanks for looking at mine!
It belongs to a very old homestead up in the hills from where I live you can see more of the photos from this place in my photo album marked as My Backyard the link is in the comments below here . Lets see if this works as a link? The photo above is also in my photo album here Come and Join Me On a Photo Tour of My Backyard. if anyone wishes to view more.
We have a water well at our summer place... looks a lot like this! The building besides it looks very recent tho ..... cause we built it 3 years ago lol. Your building on the other hand looks old and delightfullllll ! Click here for my ppf
Yes that looks so very old fashioned. The structure too looks very old and sturdy, stones and mortar withstanding the weathers of time. http://barb4sun.multiply.com/journal/item/452
How strange! They have a cement cap over it. Well better than here, they just leave them then years later kids fall down them and they wonder why. LOL You said I should maybe put a warning on mine? I know when it comes to what they are doing with the food here I do tend to go off. Sorry. LOL
I love the well and the house as well!!! i love the texture of old structures! there is something in it that makes it feel homey and peaceful yet full of spirit!!! i love it as ever milli! and thank you and you're welcome to your PM.... im so touched! Picture Perfect - Old Fashioned
Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to visit and encourage with such interesting comments. As long as the water that goes into any tank or well is clean and covered and the well kept WELL the water is extremely wonderful to drink. This one was on a property and disused. Not sure how the water was as I did not try it. Thanks friends.
This is a lovely picture Milli!
