Today I went for a local drive just ten minutes from here to take photos of the local organic market held on Saturday mornings only and I have some stunning photos from there to share later.
Afterwards I went for a stroll in the main street and while in the retro shop I spotted the Bronze Diving Diva. I asked for permission to go into the small private room where she posed herself for the perfect dive next to a window. Permission was also granted to take her photo.
So after taking many wonderful photos today I present for
Our Bronzed and Perfect Diving Diva
Preparing herself for the next Olympics..Maybe?

. . thats a nice pic Milli ! ( it also has an overlapping circles quality and someone looking up from outside would have been nice? ) 5 piggies out of 6 defo =)
ReplyDeletePlatO you might notice that it was raining outside the window? Anyway I had to do a quick point and shoot because it was a private office and not a planned photo. Just one of those moments in time.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for the fab comments here.
For anyone with good eyesight there is another mannequins reflection in the glass panel on the door on the right hand side. She almost looks like she is watching us in her hat as she sits there.
ReplyDeletegreat origina shot....congratulations on thinking of this.

ReplyDeleteRonnie's Picture Perfect
Hi Milli, I was here earlier, composing a lengthy comment, when my son suddenly felt the need to talk. So I Xed out and haven't got the juice left to remember my former, no doubt, brilliant, comments. So I'll just say this is really interesting and thought provoking. Is it a statue or a mannequin? The line at the butt makes me think mannequin...Love the lighting! Just mysterious enough!
ReplyDeletePlato Raises a Point
ReplyDeleteIt is not so much a case of overlapping circles but Diametrically Opposing Radii which fortunately occur in the right area. The curtain and the buttocks. The subject matter is a part of the study of Space Lines which is found under many different names. Every photograph has a best point of view but of course it is not always obtainable.
In B&W it is easier with the use of shadow where it is paramount.
In colour contrasting or supplementary colours are needed but not a mixture of both unless there is a controlling space line.
Just a point of view for those interested in the subject of composition.
Our bronze Diva is a mannequin Cheri apparently used at some time in an actual jewellery shop as part of the fixture.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill it is great to have such in depth commenting here from those in the know.

ReplyDeleteI am preparing a blog trip through a professional studio including a Colour Lab
It takes the reader though all the aspects in a 14 day tour interrupted only for Poetry Wednesday
At the end of each of the tour a tip is included on how to make a good photograph.
I believe an insight into film will better enable good digital pictures.
Excellent Bill this will be wonderful and I will give your link but keep your page open on friends of friends or public ok?
