Creative Challenge: The Beauty Of...

sunset over the reef 2

The Beauty Of...

The beauty of another day past

The splendour seen from a lonely post

We both stopped on that late Summers Day

To watch in awe as the last sun ray

Slid down behind a vast horizon

Leaving it's colours to play and  bask upon

Fluffy clouds now turned orange and grey

Natures Sunset, the beauty of, was on display.

Milli 2008

I love to walk along the coast atop the cliffs in the late afternoon. The scene before my eyes is always spectacular no matter what the time of the year.

Late afternoon is a good time for photography here, because the colours are much more intense as the position of the sun moves to the west.

This photo above was a lucky strike really. The bird flew in as I was concentrating on the view over the reef. Colours of a beautiful sunset were reflecting on the water and the clouds were taking the suns last glow and turning on a magnificent show.

Our little bird took the best seat in the house and that was an old fence post left there from the original fencing, from many years past. I stood behind and took the photo and we both just stood and watched as the colour faded and the darkness of night encroached. With out further adieu my fellow spectator flew into the darkness, no doubt to find a safe haven for the night, that had already arrived.
