A little ditty verse about Distant Cousins.

Distant Cousins

"Do I know you, Are you a relative of mine,
Was it at Aunt Lucy's, where we used to dine

.
Oh yes....I remember now
How is Aunt Dossie, still the same old cow.

Have you seen cousins Sarah or Tim
She's a teacher.. but I 've not heard of him.

Aunt Mary and her husband Long
I remember him singing that witty old song.

We were at cousin Lizzie's for a night of hymms,
But don't  really remember, 'cause I was drinking the
Pims.

Ah!!! the picnic, with all the little ones in
toe,
Did you go to that...so sorry I coundn't show.

And how is Aunt Frieda and Uncle Snow.
Now!, they have three kids, Hmm!, Sally, Peter and Joe.

Did we last meet at Mitzies wedding
She has a Grandson now, and to age one he is heading

Maybe it was a funeral, there have been a few of
late.
Well anyway!!!! good to see you again.

You're Looking Just Great."

I wrote this little verse about the meeting of two distant relatives as they pass each other by hurriedly exchanging pleasantries and family history as they do so. I find this kind of conversation does crop up from time to time when an old friend or a relative and yourself meet by an off chance and because time is not permitting your conversation becomes a series of rapid firing questions and quick exchanges, with the recollections of the past as the main talking point. Read it fast because the dialogue is meant to be a very rapid exchange. I hope you enjoy it and even though there is some sarcasm involved in the dialogue I think it represents a typical quick exchange of pleasantries and memories.
