Dear Diary Day Three,
An early morning start out on the bike and I must mention Rita knows how to handle this machine like a pro and I know how to sit in the sidecar like a queen. The mornings are wonderful however by midday I understand why a siesta is such a good way to spend a few hours. Well my siestas are usually anytime I am sitting still long enough at the moment as I think it's all starting to catch up to me. A usual thing when you come down from the adrenalin rush f the first few days. I am over whelmed with the Laguna Madre Nature Trail, it reminds me a bit of the Whale Interpretive Centre we have at our Victor Harbour, only here in Texas, don't you Know it! is much bigger.
I loved the birds and the turtles and all in all it was a very interesting and informative Trail.
On the way back I took one of my en route siestas as you do being the Queen and after a wonderful fresh Salad prepared by Rita, the Master Chef. I am calling her that now. I do hope she makes me her prized Lemon Pie before I leave.
The thought of a tattoo leaves me a bit cold to say the least however with gentle persuasion and some encouragement from my 360 friends I have decided to try just a very delicate rose tattoo on my ankle. I believe Rita has a photo on her post of a rose tattoo on a lovely ankle and I leave it to your imagination how wonderful mine looks, although it is much smaller as my tolerance as a pin cushion is rather limited.
So far so good, and I get to pick the nights entertainment but not until another short siesta and a bit of beauty therapy.
Rita was in for a bit of a treat herself because I have booked us in for a massage at the spa. I picked an upper body and face massage and also a facial so it was an interesting break for us both. After an afternoon swim in the resort pool we arrived for the massage at 4.30pm
We wore our supplied pink towelling gowns and little towelling slippers. We were then escorted into our respective cubicles and for an hour we were prodded and poked and oiled and ex foliated and moisturised and you name it, we had it all in the name of relaxation and beauty.
When we met up outside the spa I had to laugh because my face was redder than a crab due to all that blood circulating freely around my body. Rita faired a bit better and both of us had the biggest laugh when we returned back to our Condo. Talk about a couple of characters we looked like lobsters. The massage and the subsequent colour of the body made us decide that maybe a good cooling swim would be the best course of action, so out we went in the cozzies and into the coolness of the pool. Ah! that was lovely
Dinner was a casual affair at the restaurant and then a bit of dancing at the disco and then back to the condo for some rest and relaxation after the quick journal catch up.
Tonight I sleep like a log and I hope Rita does too.
Late News Break: NickO is joining us in San Antonio. Yippeeee!!! Pardner!
Good Night
Dear Diary.

You know, I've never had a massage at a spa; I'm somewhat reluctant in allowing a stranger's hands trail over my naked flesh! LOL Yes, I know, big chicken.
ReplyDeleteWell of course some strangers would never get the nod from me either LOL...Now I hope that you are enjoying this creative writing here because it was all done by rita and myself a world away from each other. Rita would write an Itinerary and I would read it then make my reply from my personal angle and all I had to go on was what she had suggested that we do that day together. LOL Great use of imagination don't you think?
ReplyDeleteAh! This answers my question on part 4. I thought that the both of you were actually on this road trip. Yes, I'm enjoying my read. Hah! I feel like I've had the wool pulled over my eyes. LOL
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoyed this very much myself and learnt so much as we went along. Usually I write fact fiction was never a biggy for me however this exercise got me into another writing time and place and taught me so much about my own writing style. I used my other travelling experiences wherever possible combined with my imagination and the ques I read from Rita's posts..there you go..No wool just dust and hair in your eyes LOL it is that darn sidecar experience.
