Dear Diary Texas Cyber Trip Day Four.

Dear Diary Day Four.

Today was an early start, 5am SGT Rita's wake up call.. Oh! well you live in a hurricane area, and you get severe storm warnings then it is best to heed them. So off before the storm comes, in it's full fury.

Rita pays attention to all details including the weather, and in order to beat a storm we set off. Early. Once again not too difficult for Queen Bee Me, Don’t you love that play on words there? Luckily we had storm wear tucked into the sidecar and I was relatively dry in my little cocoon.

San Antonio loomed up before my eyes after 7 hours of travel with stops in between. "Woweeeee!! Those boots are Huge", I thought to myself as we came upon a really Bigg! pair of Boots!. Yes you guessed, that word Bigg!! again, this time for the huge pair of Texan Boots standing in front of us as a welcome to San Antonio.

Rita had the best accommodation picked out for us both and she knows that I love heritage buildings and period furniture so our Bed and Breakfast was very charming to me, and much welcomed. A lovely retreat, after the ride in the stormy conditions.

The river area was a wonderful experience and the rain had subsided so it was a beautiful evening when we strolled out for a walk around San Antonio, which by now was all tropical and fresh after the rain. This place is an amazing mix of people and history and did you know this is the home of theAlamo?

All of this took my thoughts to the cowboy movies and westerns I had watched over the years. These surfaced into my thoughts as San Antonio reminded me of them and I was even reminded of the spaghetti westerns, which were filmed primarily in Italy and Spain. You know? Those films Like The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Clint Eastward fame? San Antonio must have been in mind when they made these films, or at least places similar to it around here.

I am enjoying everything Rita has so far introduced me to and. a river cruise might still be on the agenda. I will wait and see.

One thing I must mention here is that Elvis Presley has been remembered today August the16Th as it is the anniversary of his birthday. He lives forever in the hearts of many of his ardent fans worldwide.

As I listen to his music, I grow more and more fond of the magic that was Elvis and I leave my Dear Diary tonight singing along to one of his golden oldies.. click the play button below to listen.

Rita By the way joins me, and that Woman Rocks LOL she can sing.

  1. Okay, as I understand it, you live in Australia and you ventured to Texas for a road trip with a friend? Is Rita someone you met on 360? You make mention to her blog often.

  2. hi Crystal I left the comment on the last post for you. I know rita from 360 days and we were fellow bloggers. This was a cyber trip. I have never physically been to the USA. We both did this as a writing challenge. I must say though that many people did think that I was in Texas....
