Autumn started here on March the 1st and daylight saving ended here today.
Last night was the end of our daylight saving time here in Australia. At 2am we turned our clocks back by one hour. This will be back to normal so to speak until we lose that hour again in October 2007. Not all states used the daylight saving system and at times I wonder why we are using it. I am trying to think of one good reason for turning our clocks back one hour when in fact it is a totally useless exercise for most of the people I am in contact with.
Maybe I am missing a point somewhere and would be quite happy for an explanation of why it is so beneficial to our society.
If you are like me and feel it gives no benefit at all, then please let me know. If it has merit then tell me why you think that to be so and what you think the reasons were for implementing daylight saving in the first place.
For those of you who do not have it in place in your country please tell me if you think that it will ever be a fact of life in the near future and why it would be a good or bad decision if adopted by your government.
Well as it takes usually at least a few days to settle back down to the new time I will leave you with your thoughts about this matter and a little bit of music to reflect upon.
Cheers Milli
