Look at Me.

Look At Me.

Look at me?

Yes look at me

What do you see

A woman, female,

Gentle, femininity

Perfection at any cost

You see that in me

Giving, affectionate

Nurturing, sensual, soft

Paying the price

Now my soul is lost

Hating this skin

For the trouble it brings

For me, and this child within

We pay for all sin

He who cares naught

As I tear at my outer

Fear, anger, outrage

At the lies I was told

I hate him, I hate him

Turning hate inwards

Tearing at my skin

Unleash this nightmare

Aids will ravish us both

There is no escape

Ah! but wait, was there

Something you missed

Did you not see

The determination, resilience

Undeniable, Strength

Residing deep inside

Of Me!

Look at Me?

  1. Wow! This is a poignant write, Milli. Sadly enough, Africa is overwhelmed with this disease. You did a fine job in driving home your point.

  2. Thank you Crystal. I wanted to make an impact and thanks so much for the reassurance that I did it.
