Veil...Curtain
Shrouded in the darkness of night
The river was eerily calm
A veil of fine mist surrounded the boat
As the soft blue glow
From the hallway night light
Gave me a sense of serenity and calm
This was not to last
Because
Soon the wind howled
The little boat rocked back and forth
And the driving rain pelted down all around
As natures force played havoc
Leaving me with no option other than
To draw the curtains and
Retreat under the warmth of my cosy bedclothes
For the remainder of this fierce and
Inclement night
Then in the bright light of a brand new day
I would awake, give thanks
And
Celebrate
A new day upon the now fast flowing
Murray River.
