Sometimes the unexpected happens when we least expect it.
I was walking a small trail through the scrub looking for the wild native Dipodium Punctatum Orchids coming out in bloom.
I have some beautiful orchid photos but this one fits the theme the best.
Leaning over with my camera set to macro setting I photographed the beautiful wild orchid when up from the other side emerged a Hopper Ant. Well that's what I think it was, I did not stay around to inspect it further. Now I have not only the beautiful orchid buds emerging on the top of the single stem. These orchids have no leaves only a single stem that emerges from the forest floor, but I also have the emerging Hopper Ant too.
The orchids usually flower around Christmas time although flowering is a bit late this year for this type of orchid.
