Max in Adelaide South Australia

Hi B and all the Children in Middle School in NB,

Max arrived here in Adelaide on the 29th of October 2010 after spending some time in South Korea with Aunt MJ and before that with Luxy in St Augustine..

On arrival he rested up until the next day a Saturday when he was whisked away to Glenelg, a historic seaside town in South Australia, where he then dined at Montezuma’s Mexican Restaurant. After dinner he attended the Musical, Jesus Christ Super Star in Adelaide at Her Majesties Theatre. He enjoyed the talented artists performances immensely and after the show he strolled down to China Town for a coffee with the ladies.

From here he said good bye to me, Milli, and went to stay in Adelaide near Government House with Di.

It was Halloween on Sunday and although he learnt about the history of Adelaide and especially government house on this day, he did not venture out to trick or treat.

Monday he spent some time in the Governors Kitchen watching all the goodies being made for the next day. He also met the Governors Teddy Collection where he learnt that many organisations and private people make gifts of teddies to the Governor and His Wife and these lucky bears, sit oh so happily on a beautiful and grand piano and accompanying piano stool, or on a big round antique table in one of the state rooms. Max was very impressed because he also had his photo taken in the large foyer with a huge painting of Queen Mary.

He attended a fancy dress luncheon the next day, Tuesday, at Government House with the Staff and His Excellency and Lady Scarce.

On the first Tuesday in November, the whole of Australia Stops to watch the running of the Melbourne Cup which has taken place in Melbourne for the past 150 years. Australians everywhere from all walks of life love to see this fabulous horse race and Max enjoyed it also.

As you can tell Max has had a very busy social life here in Adelaide.

Max returned to the beach house and to Milli and has since been to the seaside to watch the sunset at Pt Willunga with a new friend Jemima.

He also visited Urimbirra wild life experience at Victor Harbor and met up with local birds, reptiles and animals, the most exciting for Max being his fellow Aussie cousin the Koala Bear. Photos included.

Today it was 11/11/10 and he had a small Remembrance Day celebration with a few of his pals. The bugle played the last post at 11am and those present remembered in silence all those who have fought for their country in wars.

Max is now being prepared for his big trip to Europe and his visit with Pat in Switzerland.

I loved having Max visit with me and I know he caused quite a stir wherever we went with his cuteness and the Goodwill he brings with him as he travels around the world.

Thank You Brad it was a pleasure to host Max here in South Australia.

Best Regards and Bear Hugs,

  9. MJ after looking at what Max has done so far this looks like a truly fabulous exercise for the kids in the middle school. You squeezed some excellent times into the schedule too as did Luxy. All in all though it is going along so swell. Max did meet the Governor and his wife. Lucky Max.

  15. Have told the cats to move over and make room for a bear, they said that's no problem, rather a bear than my overgrown kitten that sometimes stays. They just hope that there is enough tuna fish to go around.
