“A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
Oscar Wilde |
On My Mind
Many thoughts go through my mind
I could be called the thinking kind
Deliberation ever present
What is necessary verses that
Which isn't
Too much Internal dialogue
Can deplete a mind
So when practical I indulge in thoughts
Of a more positive kind
Once I was a worry wart
Negativism came with every thought
Now I weigh the good and bad
Make my choice and don't feel sad
Think less and act more
Rationalising
That I can always use
My imagination and creativity
To learn new skills and explore.

PS. I hope this verse did not you
Bore!

No, this verse did not me bore,
ReplyDeleteGlad you think positively more. ;)
That is a stunning pic, Milli. And I can so relate to your poem. Life is so much more enjoyable when we act rather than fret and worry and deliberate every decision, eh? Sometimes it is great just to throw caution tt the wind!
Indeed Joe these days I have stilled my mind at times when necessary and I live in my moments often...thank you. Have a cuppa for me lol.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Gator I can see on the shore line?
ReplyDeleteAll that glitters is not gold, and that we get from being old.
So mind that dainty foot of yours tread gingerly on yon shore.
A nice view that could be improved with you explaining it to me.
Yes yes I know where the queue starts.
The Gator is moving towards its end. lol
Hi Bill no such thrill
ReplyDeleteWe have no gators
In this still.
I took the photo at the dawn
Near to where the fishes spawn
You can see the board walk on the side
Pelicans and seabirds do here reside.
Though it takes decades to get here....it seems as though most of us arrive to what you speak of.....and it truly is wonderful. Why it takes us so long to learn I don't know ....but now we eagerly gulp the experiences.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written and so special because as I said.....most of us can relate.
Thanks for visiting, Milli, and as always your comments make me smile
That was great. I enjoyed the rythem in reading that. Great work and thank you for your comments.
ReplyDeleteNo, this verse did not me bore. LOL. This offers wonderful lessons for those of us who tend to worry too much. You're right: Turn it into a decision to accept or reject. That puts paid to the lot of it.
ReplyDeleteThis verse wasnt a bore
ReplyDeleteIt brings to light, matters of the core
We all have negativities behind closed doors
It matters whether we let them in or shut them out
After a while with awareness, we can turn them inside out :).
That Pic makes me want to have been there when it was taken.
~smile~ ... that verse was anything but a bore ..... I kind of wanted it to carry on and on!!
ReplyDeleteLoved it .....
Thanks for the visit ....
