What is that bird who fishes free

 Is big and proud with dignity

 Whether soaring through a Sapphire sky

 Or nesting on a pole so high

 An amazing site as a fish I throw

 Swallowed whole! where did it go!

 And as it waddles back for more

 Its mates are on the distant shore.

 The boats are in from a fruitful trip

 And the big white birds will want to dip

 Into the water next to the dock

 Their next meal is there so in they flock

Elegant, graceful as they glide

 Wings out stretched from their side

 Oh Pelican don't ever leave our shore
