He Said… She Said….Oh Dear What a Fantasy or is it!!!
He….”Happy Anniversary Honey”
She…Thank You Dear and the same to you too!
As she leans forward and hugs him whilst kissing him fondly but quickly on the lips.
He…Honey I thought we need to get away for a few days so this weekend we are going to stay in the country at a fabulous spot, I have picked out for the both of us.
She thinks to herself but does not actually say.
”Ohh!!! No!!! last time he said that we went off together, me in high hopes of something luxurious and special and he took me to his mates humpy a short drive inland by the sea and I spent the first four hours just cleaning the place so that we could inhabit this dusty, mice infested, rickety old dump.”
So her expectations are less than good about his choice of a get away for this special weekend.
“Darling do I get to see this mmm! Place before we go? Can I look it up on the internet or do you have a brochure?” she enquires.
“Oh No Honey I bought the weekend escape from my friend at work. He could not use it because of other commitments this weekend. So I thought that you might like to come away with me for our anniversary."
"And Hon! We have been married for how long now?”
Laughingly she replies, “ Dear it has been forty long years and you are just as romantic now as you were all those years ago.”
He looks a bit embarrassed but it does not stop him from planting a good whack on her backside as he states, “And you my dear Are!! still as sexy as ever”.
Bags packed and to be on the safe side she also packs a small bag of cleaning products, camping out clothes and good tough walking boots because she has walked this trail with him so many times. She also packs her favourite books which she reads when he does a bit of fishing. All very predictable she thinks to herself.
A few hours out from home she is surprised at the journey thus far. They are not heading out into the sticks like they usually would. Oh no they are in wine country. The day is sunny but cool and the winter landscape is quite spectacular with so much greenery around and the beautiful early blossoms on the almond trees making that special splash of soft pastel amongst the starkness of the bare trunks and wooden posts of the grape vines.
“Almost here Honey” he says to her as she becomes even more bewildered at the sight of a beautiful pitched roof house in the distance sitting across from the rows of vines.
Her eyes now almost popping out of her head as they park the car and he wanders over to knock on the door of this amazingly beautiful and stylish homestead.
Back he comes to the car his eyes bright like the eyes of a young boy who has managed to find his pet mouse, after searching furiously for the small escapee, before his mother returned home.
Together inside, they climb the spiral staircase, he behind her nudging her up the steep incline. Nearing the top he places his hands over her eyes and as they both reached the landing he turns her around and says ” What do you think Darling?”
She opens her eyes and almost faints in disbelief. She was not expecting this beautiful bed and breakfast loft room to be her anniversary present from her loving but quite unromantic husband of all these years.
“Oh My Gosh” she cried “ This is stunning and so different than what I expected. You have chosen the perfect weekend hideaway Dear and I am astonished” He grins, winks and says” Now let me get our bags as you settle yourself comfortably on that big comfy bed”. She giggles and thinks to herself. ”Oh I never expected this in a million years, and did not even bring anything pretty to wear.”
As he leaves to get the bags he turns to her and says “ Don’t bother to wear anything Hon except what nature gave you, because you look best in that”. She giggles as a warm glow spreads all over her.
They still have what it takes after all these years and now You can Imagine!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI had no trouble imagining it at all and through the mistiness of early cataracts I felt my way around.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly I tripped over a fishing rod and with the line around my feet I fell forward.
Soft yielding and somehow seductive, I was covered in a blanket of cold fish.
Moral? Never mess with another bloke's tackle.
Now you switch the lights on. lol
