This Week's Photo For Rita's Ritin Challenge is a Beauty and Thank You Danni for the photo and inspiration as you relieve Rita this week.
Welcome Back Rita once you are all hooked up again.
Country Road Drive
I have seen many days oh yes this is true
And I know I am not bright and shiny, or even brand new
I have rust on my roof and I am a few planks shy
But I have history, maturity and people love me, you may wonder WHY?
I am told that my style both attracts and endears
From another era I stand nostalgically amongst a field of wheat ears
I am a classic always useful and purposely made
As a stable, secure holding for the contents and sundry, of a family’s trade.
When you pass me by, whilst out on your scenic country road drive
Remember I was built strong and reliable with an intent to survive.
Milli 09
nothing quite like a good ol' barn with a good hayloft

ReplyDeleteHI Milli !!!...yes, us country boys know how to stack some hay and use it
ReplyDeleteGreat write Milli. I loved how you wrote from the barn's perspective.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo you have on Show Ren. I hope others will take a peak too. Great words you chose to go with your old barn photo. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Jay. This is how the photo came across to me. It is so great to read the individual responses to a grand photo like this. Don't you agree?
ReplyDeleteJust like me, it would look better thatched
ReplyDeleteBut unlike me, it was tin hat snatched
My hair.
Given I stood in your field to offset that scene
You could put verse to my wildest dream?
More hair.
Your fertilising formulae will do. lol
For you Dear Bill
ReplyDeletejust a tiny pill
It works like a wonder
Might cause thunder
But what the heck
If you become a wreck
All in the name
Of this vanity game.
I will see hair on your head
Well!!!! enough said.
LOL
Great poem - ode to a barn (we don't have barns like that in Switz)
