I belong to a a wonderfully creative group called Images and Words and we post an image of our own on a Sunday with appropriate words of our own or those belonging to someone else, each week from either a Theme or from a free choice depending on what the host or hostess chooses.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Pepper trees were always my favorite trees to climb as a kid. Now most of my climbing is limited to fruit trees ;-). Perfect quote by Joseph Campbell.

The trunk of this tree is simply amazing, full of character is this old soul! Outstanding photo, Milli! I'm in total agreement with the saying!
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY!!! We had a pepper tree behind our old house. It's amazing how quickly they grow when they've been cut down to about 8 feet. They are such lovely trees - especially in the breeze. I miss that old guy! Thanks for the great photo and the wonderful quote! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow Milli what a gorgeous old tree and the words I couldn't agree more with.

ReplyDelete...A tree, grown where it had been planted. Doing as it knows. A tree, fat and gorgeous in it's deformity...Shy as it seeks out...reaches and branches...dances with it's leaves, it's limbs....Shy about it's own beauty...A tree as this, blowing off onto the night, and day, and any bird which would come upon it's way. A kiss, a gentle kiss, a laughing kiss...As it's bats a brilliant eye, Whispers in it's leaves...'Come here. Come here, come sit in the shade under me. I will hold you. I will love you. I'll laugh and not place a soul above you.' A tree, dancing shyly, dreaming grand. A tree holding out, and giving unto the world a hand...as it takes the soil, the dirt and breathes out...releases-renews...and, exhales...giving back to the air. Giving back to the sun...
ReplyDeleteA tree...grown where it had been planted.
Doing as it knows.
