Rita's "Riting" Challenge ~ 26 ~ RIP Lightning Jack

RIP Lightning Jack

Lightning Jack was six foot six and scraggy as all hell

As a gold miner his job was rough, but he was tough and he mined the hard stuff well

Lightning Jack always enjoyed a party and an ale with his mates

When he would remind one and all that when he knocks at those pearly gates.

"Just lay me down and cover me up," he would say to his mining partner, Pete

"Cause ya know I'll drop dead soon enough, while I'm workin on me feet,

But Pete! Ya gotta leave me sturdy boots, atop the highest pile

So me mates can see them beauties every day, even from a mile."

"I wont have those big ol ' slackers forget me, when they come out for a smoke

Cause when they see me wolvie boots, they'll remember their mate

Old Lightning Jack

Was always well shod and a 'Ripper of a Bloke'."

The photo above is my inspiration for this challenge and even if  these old boots could speak I bet they could tell us all hundreds of tales from all the miles that they have covered in their lifetime. Thanks for the challenge Rita.
