Picture of the Month ~ January ~

MAKE HAY WHILE THE SUN SHINES -- "Act while conditions are favorable. The grass that is going to be used as hay needs to be dried after it is cut: rain is likely to spoil it. The farmer, therefore, sought to cut hay on a day when it seemed likely that the sun would be around for that day and one or two more. John Heywood listed the advice as proverbial in 1546: 'When the sunne shyneth make hey.'" From "Dictionary of Cliches" by James Rogers (Wings Books, Originally New York: Facts on File Publications, 1985).

Presenting My Picture for the Month of January

My photo for the month of January whilst it could easily have been of a hay paddock is instead depicting, action, speed and movement. January was a fast paced month and full of movement down here so the photo I have chosen is an action shot of the bikes passing me by whilst the Tour Down under transversed out local roads,

So much to do this January 2009.

It was was Fast Paced, Entertaining, Fabulous Fun!! and the beginning of a Heatwave.

I think I need to do a Summer album for January 2009 because I have been constantly snapping here.

I took this theme from Marcia's Friend Dani and to join the action please see Dani.

  23. great photo milli...i love the way you have connected it to the proverb...
make hay while the sun shines...reminds me yet again that life is finite, we need to fix our goal for an entire lifetime and achieve it while there still is 'time'..
