  1. Thanks Keith. I have some lovely flower photos all taken by me including this one at the Royal Show and I want a cover for them. This will help me. The background theme is also the same photo I used as a poster.

  2. The third ... gold frames seem to add a lot to it...Loved the first one but frame was to ornate and took a little away from the photo......... maybe even a simpler gold matting would work.... beautiful shot no matter how you decide....

  3. Thanks Joel how to get the gold matting effect? I have used photobucket Frames only because I do not have any other framing programs except Flickr to use at the moment...

  4. I'll upload you a sample... I just took your second pic with white matting and flood filled it ... then cropped it down some on the frame..... I did this at fotolexer.com but any site you can paint at would work..... I'll add the pic here in a couple of minutes.....

  5. You might even want to a little thinner on the gold frame.... hope you don't mind I did this... I have already deleted the picture.... from my computer and will delete it here after you look at it....

  6. Thanks Joel for helping me here I took a copy myself and I will investigate that other site. I understand where you are coming from with this and appreciate your help here. there is a tutorial on some good framing in another of my photo groups and I will pursue that when I have the photoshop installed here. Have a lovely day there. Ours is almost over here..

  7. Milli It might just be a matter of taste, but I prefer the first one. While I do agree with Joel that the frame could be a little thinner, I do not think it detracts from the subject, but enhances it.

  8. Thanks Rita I will give that a try also. I can make it thinner. Rita how do you set up a poll on a post in here?

  9. What a lovely rose image Milli. I tend to agree with Joel here that a simple thin gold frame would look great or even a bronze frame. Heavy frames tend to detract from the subject in most cases I have found. I would have loved to see his example.
To set up a poll, when you are in post mode, you just click on the second to last icon at the top, to the right of the smiley face.

  11. hmmmm...a bunch of flowers scrunched, bunched, punched and thrown around to make a pattern.......fascinating image Milli.......I'll go with the top one....

  12. I like the smaller framing of the first but would prefer understatement rather than the filligree which I think takes away from the beautiful roses that are elegant enough without all the brouhaha of the frame. That's just my opinion, which is really nitpicky since it's a lovely still life that would look great no matter what's wrapped around it.

  13. Thank you for all the input here and I have now some insight from you all as, to what you feel to be elegant framing. As is always the case though, Beauty truly is, in the eye of the beholder.

  16. This is a more than a month late, but I like the middle on with the white framing; it doesn't take away from the floral arrangement, which is what you want to showcase. The white actually enhances it. The first one says that the image has been removed.
