Ghost Rider.

How would you like to see this coming at you in the rear view mirror

Maybe it was built by an Orthopedic Surgeon?

Badddd to the Boneee!!!!

Hold tight as The Ghost Rider comes your way.

I had these photos sent to me in an email and incidentally around the same time, that I watched the movie Ghost Rider.

We have a practice with family here that as the weather cools we all get together for a soup night. We arrange to meet at a family members home and all bring along a different soup or something that will go with soup to eat as the evening meal.

We all share the soup, bread and this last evening we also watched movies afterwards.

I had a good laugh along with others who chose to watch RV with Robin Williams and let me say this movie cracked me up in quite a few places LOL especially the scene where Robin Williams rides on the front of the run away RV, out of control it propels him into the shrubbery. Very, very funny movie this one.

Whilst some of the others watched  Beowulf. I will need to watch that move another time, although those who watched it thought it was a fantastic action packed movie.

It was still early enough and as the rain pelted down outside I chose to watch the movie Ghost Rider starring Nicolas Cage. At first I thought "oh here we go another good verses evil movie, with plenty of action and not much substance"  Well I must admit that it lived up to expectations but it also had the most amazing animation and good acting too, especially a few surprises from the good old days like Peter Fonda and Sam Elliot and yes there was eye candy in the movie too ie. Eva Mendes.

I never tire of watching Nicolas Cage myself LOL. Ho humm!!!

"Ghost Rider" (2007)

Ghost Rider Synopsis: The story follows Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stunt rider who sells his soul to Mephistopheles in order to save his dying father. Years later, Mephistopheles offers to free Johnny's soul if he agrees to become the Ghost Rider, an agent of vengeance. Mephistopheles also demands Johnny kill Blackheart, Mephistopheles' son who wants to create an even more hellish hell.

All in all I enjoyed this movie and it kept me watching and absorbed.

My next soup night will be along in a month's time so I might just get to see the Gripping Tale Beowulf then.

  2. aha.. Nicolas Cage and his sad looking eyes.. I dont know why it is that that image of his eyes stuck with me.. after watching Captain Corelli's Mandolin I guess. It lends itself to a deep deep sadness.

  13. When Marvel Comics first introduced Ghost Rider in 1973, I wasn't impressed, but after three, maybe four issues, I got into the story line. Ten years they spun out comics on the character, actually three different Ghost Riders. The film fairly followed the original format, but not quite. When it comes to comic characters coming to life on the big screen, I at least like to see the director's/producer's stay with the original format. Most intense film Cage was ever in I enjoyed was 8MM. It was there he did some of his best acting. My take on Ghost Rider ... rating it a 7, and just capped off a bowl of homemade cheese soup. 8=)

  16. Hey there Bill I am gad you added all this to my not all that explicit review. I knew of the super hero connection however I watched it more from the point of a movie production than that of a comic connection with the original Johnny Blade. I realise they take liberties with movies most times to hit the general audience rather than the devotees of the comic series. 8MM I am not sure if I have seen it but will check it out. Cheesy soup yummy and our choices were Curried cabbage and mincemeat..I recommend that one and also beef veg and barley , and creamy pumpkin, ahh and one more seafood chowder... I think I need to do a soup night blog of recipes...

  17. Go that Chicken soup Chezzz I love to make it and eat it too. I think we were brought up on it...

  18. Be advised that 8MM is not for the faint of heart. It was release about 1998 or 1999.

A small plastic reel of film leads a surveillance specialist Tom Welles down on a dark and frightening path. Welles follows a bizarre trail of evidence to determine the fate of a complete stranger. As his work turns into obsession, he drifts farther and farther away from his wife, family and simple life as a small-town private eye.

Tom Welles, private eye, is hired by a wealthy widow. She found a reel of S8-film in a safe. On the film is a cruel slaughtering of a young girl, who obviously does not pretend or act: A snuff-movie. Welles takes up investigation, which leads him to the girl's mother and from there to Hollywood, into the office of a porn flick producer. Welles' rising obsession to solve the case also carries him away from his wife and new-born daughter. But when finally names are at hand, Welles suddenly finds himself on ice much thinner than he planned.

This film deals with the "other world" many, if not most of us ever see, yet alone bring up in day to day conversating. It is impacting, demanding and will leave you in awe.

If ya post a soup blog, I'll be sure to look for it. I'm sorta kinda a soup-aholic LOL
