The Art Sunday Tour starts here and I thank Lina for this tour.

Hermann Kaulbach was a German Painter and was famous for his Children Paintings. I have not known much about this artist and you have given me a chance to know more about him and his paintings. Thank you for the informations. For Art Sunday this week, I have posted the paintings of Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma at - http://jayaramanms.multiply.com/journal/item/138/TRIBUTE_TO_RAJA_RAVI_VARMA and his works in an album at - http://tinyurl.com/3uxc2y. Please see.
ReplyDeleteI think you have not linked your blog to the Hostess's page. please see.
Thanks JR I have made my link now and All is working. There is more to read about him I am sure however my searches did not procure all that much information. He is the son from another famous German painter and the family are well known for being artists many of them in their own right. The link to the children's book will give you more information and links to his family. Enjoy.
ReplyDeletenew to me but as a person of germanic decent... this entertains me and makes me proud too! even germans have a tender side!
ReplyDeleteThanks Solo and of course they do I know many wonderful German people and there is some in my ancestory too.
ReplyDeleteWhat is a standout here are his choice in colors and the softness in which they are protrayed. His mental side behind the brush must have been gentleness, for it shows up very well in 'Can You Read'. The expressions on each child's face throughout shows soft, wonder or awe, and patience. I am not very knowledgeable with every artist out there, but I know what I like when I see it.
ReplyDeleteThis link ties to a painting he did that also ties in with your prior posting of the Mandolin.
