Picture Perfect~~Contrast

    1. The act of contrasting; a setting off of dissimilar entities or objects.
    2. The state of being contrasted: red berries standing in vivid contrast against the snow.
  1. A difference, especially a strong dissimilarity, between entities or objects compared: the contrast between Northern and Southern speech patterns.
  2. One thing that is strikingly dissimilar to another: My new school was a welcome contrast to the one before.
  3. The use of opposing elements, such as colors, forms, or lines, in proximity to produce an intensified effect in a work of art.
  4. The difference in brightness between the light and dark areas of a picture, such as a photograph or video image.
  5. Linguistics. A difference between units, especially one that distinguishes meaning.

[French contraster, from Italian contrastare, from Medieval Latin contrāstāre : Latin contrā-, contra- + Latin stāre, to stand.]

The photo above can be seen also in my photos of Melbourne. This is a museum contained in a huge modern cage. Quite amazing from both inside and out. I hope you like my Picture Perfect for this week because at times it seems almost impossible for me to choose from the many photos I have on my pc and in my own collection. Although I have used this image before, it still strikes me as a huge contrast in shapes, form, colours and even in the materials used. Old kiln bricks against solid new age steel.

Yesterday has been successfully contained in Today.

To see this image in it's largest form try clicking on it or go to My Photos the Melbourne Group and click it up to its extreme size. Warning it is a big image.

  9. is blogging vs commenting a good contrast?
is Adam and eve a contrast
is god and devil a contrast
is sunrise and sunset a contrast
is western and eastern a contrast
is north and south a contrast
is cotton and polyester a contrast
is red and green a contrast
is black and white a contrast
    last but not the least
is a mom and dad a contrast to children?

think of unity amongst them in the diversity as pictured by you in this diversified objects ?

    your eyes have it
    my words have it
    are they contrast or matching?

is the longest distance and nearest/dearest comment a contrast?

  15. Brilliant! You caught many contrasts there. The first to strike me was shape.... the round vs the straight and angular. Reading on about the structure, it is obviously a place of many contrasts. Well done!
