Dear Diary, today marks the beginning of my Trip of a Lifetime around Rita's part of Texas.
After Leaving Adelaide and the cold of winter and travelling for almost a day give or take a few hours I finally touch down in Texas.
Rita is here waving at me in the terminal as she holds a coconut with a straw in it. Interesting I thought however as I was to find out once I drank from the straw inside the coconut a wonderful sweet and refreshing cool tropical drink was my welcome drink. I have arrived and I am feeling excited with the sight of the palms swaying outside the airport windows, combined with the taste of the exotic drink she has kindly supplied. Is this Texan hospitality? Then I love it. One thing in particular I am noticing is that everyone is wearing cooler clothes. It is hot outside and I am about to find that out very soon.
Pretty soon we are on our way. Clothes changed to accommodate our unique mode of transport.. Mmm! That was interesting getting into the pink chaps and leather jacket back at the airport. Oh! well when in Texas and riding in a motorbike sidecar, I say, "Do as the locals do." With that done I was whisked off, and the One!! Bag I carry, much to my chagrin, as I always pack too much on a trip, just fits snugly into the sidecar port.
Rita had also presented me with a little something from Nicko, a welcome to Texas gift from him. My eyes popped as I undid the wrapper to find the leather briefs front zip n all!! NickO!! I know Rita is leather lady and I am lingerie lady buttttt that was bizarre LOL.
Oh! Dear diary I will let Rita write about where we are going and what we are doing as I take a quick snooze in this more than comfy sidecar
Rita talks about our first night at the resort on her 360 post. One thing I must mention here is that she and I have been non-stop chatting every moment that we can. That is between my snoozes and the sound of the bike engine. I know that tonight she has it planned that we sit and take in the beauty of a Texan sunset at the resort and knowing me I will talk into the wee hours non-stop. Whooo!! Hoooo!!! I am loving this here, Texas, Ya all!!!
PS Another Friend of mine Rainydays has a very good Photo Post about her trip to Arlington Texas. Although as different as Night and Day are Arlington and Donna Texas and it can be said the same about most countries and their states and provinces, that the difference can be quite marked even within a short span of miles. However Texas is Bigg and the miles are many.
