PP ~ Everyday Thanks

There is so much to be thankful for in our lives and so much that I could post here today to depict through photography my heartfelt Everyday Thanks..

We are nearing the end of Spring and rain has been very sparse for us. This little pond area was created a few months ago when the dwarf pine which occupied this space for many decades, decided that it was time to depart to the wood pile, with a little help.

So in its place is the pond with the wood carving of a lady standing next to it. I like to think that she is giving her blessings and Everyday Thanks to the elements of nature which sustain us all.

We received some much needed rain over the last two days replenishing and rejuvenating the pond and the garden.

Please come and sit with me and enjoy my little pond and take in the ambiance that it most certainly conveys

  16. Dietes bicolor
The name dietes refers to the close association the plant has with two of its relatives. The foliage is reminiscent of an iris - long, stiff leaves that grow in fans about 3ft tall. Unlike most irises, however, the flowers appear on branching stalks at the end of the stems.

They're about 2½in across, creamy-yellow with a chocolate-brown blotch at the base of each petal. Rather like a day lily, they last only for 24 hours, but the plant produces so many that it is gorgeous to look at for weeks.

As you can see the flower has almost finished and it has a slight pinkish tinge in the photo.

  17. Great angle you have taken and I love the way you have captured the water droplets flowing from the fountain. Such interesting stone and the beautiful accent fo the petunia is an added touch.
