Jet man Soon to Take Historic Flight.

The You Tube below introduces you to the swiss born Jet man Yves Rossy, who in the very near future will take to the skies in an historic flight from Cap Blanc Nez, France across The Channel to Dover in the UK.

On 25 September, one man will risk his life to attempt the impossible – to become the first man to cross the English Channel with only a single jet-propelled wing strapped to his back.

Swiss pilot Yves Rossy will be the first person in history to fly across the English Channel using a special wing. Known as Fusion-Man, Rossy will jump from a plane more than 3,000 metres above ground, fire up the jets on his wing and soar across the English Channel at speeds approaching 190 kilometres per hour. Rossy will trace the route of French aviator Louis Blériot who dared to be the first to cross the English Channel in an airplane 99 years earlier.

    Jet wing daredevil crosses Channel

A SWISS adventurer using a jet-propelled wing has flown across the English Channel from France in less than 10 minutes.

Yves Rossy landed safely in a field near Dover late tonight, SA time.
He leapt from a plane at more than 2500 meters (8800 feet), fired up his jets and made the 35-kilometre trip from Calais in France to Dover in England in less than 10 minutes.

He began the Friday flight just before 1207 GMT; by 12:15 GMT, Rossy was above British soil and looped over onlookers before opening his parachute, with his wings still strapped to his back.

Rossy touched down in a field near the white cliffs of Dover.
